PARTY STYLE : DIY PINEAPPLE OF MY EYE

April showers bring May flowers...and boy are we in need of some serious spring pretty.

Who else is Wednesday day dreaming of warmer, tropical months? Let's "You're the Pineapple of my Eye" party to make your spring spirits bright.

DIY Leaf Place Cards, please.

Print out some pretty green paper leaves and cut them out. Or, have a garden full of green leaves? Pluck them right off your shrubs or trees. Using a metallic sharpie, get crafty and hand write your guests names. The metallic really pops on the green.

Once names are listed on each leaf, tuck them into fork tines at each setting, or small placecard holders, so guests can easily find their seat.

Bright bold hues bring home the tropical palette.

A stylist secret: stick to three main colors for a soft look that pleases the eye. Too many colors can be distracting and create business.

Designer Tip: A pretty table runner instantly adds dimension to your table and a big splash of color and pattern. You can easily diy a table runner from a roll of wrapping paper. Just unroll down the length of the table, letting edges hang down sides to the floor, and voila.

Fill vases with tropical blooms like cymbidium orchids clustered together, and spring tulips with accents of and monstera leaves for pineapple theme perfection.

Layer in styled elements like glasses, jars, candlesticks - anything to add texture and interest to the table.

Aloha to tasty party favors - adding both a pop of color to the settings and also a grab and go party favor for guests to take home.

When throwing a party, or setting a table, the more details the better. Tiny handpainted pineapple and palm frond macarons dress each setting as guests take their seats.

You can order painted macs from our friend Toni Patisserie. You can also diy paint them with edible icing markers, available at craft stores. All the yum!

Come on sunshine! We are ready to Spring Soireé.
